In less than 5 minutes, you can become a winner to a youth or teen in our PR10K ("Promote Running for 10,000 Kids") program. These are young people in underserved areas (identified to FS through their parents, coaches, teachers or school administrators) who have expressed an interest in running, but their families may not have the financial means to get them involved. When you become a Faithful Soles (FS) member for $15.00 a year (or give a membership as a gift to a family member or friend), not only do you (or they) receive all of the member benefits, but more importantly you automatically sponsor a youth in PR10K. Through your FS membership, we provide these young people with their own FS Runner ID and Password so that they will have full access to all of the amazing stories, blogs and information on FS, which can be a positive influence in their lives when they are able to read about others who have set high goals and achieved them. They also receive a "Goal Setting" form where they establish a goal they want to achieve, mileage/time sheets to track the progress of their goal, and a "Goal Achievement Certificate" with their name and description of what they accomplished once they reach their goal. For those of you that have completed a race and received a medal for your efforts, that is how much these certificates mean to these young people. FS also works where possible either directly or in conjunction with other organizations to obtain running shoes or running clothes for these youth at either a greatly reduced cost or at no cost, which is dependent on the policies of the local, regional or national business that FS is contacting. FS has also been successful at having race entry fees either waived or reduced for youth in this program, again dependent on the policy of the race itself and the sponsors of that race.
