About
the recipients of membership sponsorships:
Sponsorships go to provide
memberships to youth/teens/students in the
PR10K ("Promote Running for 10,000 Kids") program. The main goal is to get them involved
in PR10K to establish a walking or running program, which promotes a
healthy lifestyle, builds self-esteem, and teaches goal setting skills
that ultimately may be used in all aspects of their lives. Coaches, teachers and/or school
administrators who have enrolled their schools in PR10K identify
students who have expressed an interest in running, and are in underserved areas whose families
may not have the financial means to enroll as members.
Memberships are provided by Faithful Soles to these students as they
become available through fees collected from sponsorships, as well
as from regular
memberships, membership gifts to family and friends, and
memberships purchased through a group fund raiser. Students
who receive these memberships will have their own Faithful Soles Runner
ID and password to login and have full access to all of the
inspirational stories and features on the site, as well as a link to a
downloadable "Goal Setting" form and a printable training log to track
the date, mileage and cumulative mileage towards a mileage goal the
student sets for themselves. When the student has achieved the primary
goal they set for themselves on that form, they (with the help of a
parent or guardian) will submit an online form to Faithful Soles and
will be sent a "Faithful Soles Goal Achievement Certificate" in
recognition of their accomplishment.
Suggested sponsorship amounts: Member
sponsorships for youth in the PR10K program
are suggested at $15.00 each (the cost of a regular Faithful Soles membership), and you
may sponsor as many youth as you like (each membership sponsored provides a
student with a one year membership). Faithful Soles
appreciates any sponsorship amount, regardless if it is less and/or not in
multiples of $15.00, so please give as you see fit. Sponsorships not equal
to a $15.00 increment will be added together to make full memberships
available to students in the program. The student recipient(s) will not be
asked to pay any other fees for their annual membership since you as the
sponsor are paying for those during the youth member sponsorship registration
process. Payments are submitted securely online
via PayPal, and you do not have to have an existing PayPal account
to use this feature. As a sponsor, you will also receive a free
membership for yourself to Faithful Soles that you can keep or give to a
family member or friend.
